![]() ![]() you can see the "bowl" on top of his head under the crown in the NES sprite. Got a source for that info? I'm pretty certain he's meant to be a Kappa. Quote from: doublebass1985 on March 08, 2023, 07:10:11 AMDid you know that the king transformation for World 3 is suppose to be this guy Spike? It's just a more cartoonistic version of him I guess. I hope you are able to see it through to its full potential. Jokes aside, you got something special here and clearly people recognize it. Shapely 24 year old lady hiney, not one of those flabby dude butts you see supporting a dumpy middle aged cop or school superintendent from the American Midwest. are you planning on altering the background tiles and making this a complete overhaul? Your work blows the Nintendo original SMB All-Stars and I'd hate to see these works of art be released half-assed when they deserve at least one whole ass. Maybe those were just placeholder versions until later? Spiny looks dope as hell though. Also, Lakitu and Hammer Bros seem to lack the depth of color that the rest of your sprite work has. But I would suggest making the Goombas feet a little larger. I played the SMB1 Demo a bit more in depth and have a couple more suggestions but nothing nearly as in depth as having to smash a newly drawn detailed sprite within the confines of an existing bounding box. Almost exactly what I was picturing in my head with one exception, but I wont even get into that because it's almost completely irrelevant. I already shrunk their shells a lot, I really wish I could just extend their sprites just a smidge, like 8 pixels would be enough. It's a lot like how they'll look in SMB3. I will take this into consideration when I touch up her SMB2 sprite though.Īs for the Koopa Troopas, does this look better: Her smaller sprite is on the screen for like 2 seconds and is obscured by bars and then gets covered up by a large sprite of her kissing Mario, so i'm not too fussed about her. Quote from: pocket on March 03, 2023, 07:58:08 PMToadstool still has the lips in SMB1 it's just smaller so not easier to see. And if I can't get that help, then I guess it's time to brainstorm alternatives.ĮDIT: One more quick thing to note, early on I thought I'd swap the King of Grassland and the King of Desert Land's sprites because "the guy wearing the turban in the desert and the guy wearing the crown in desert land makes more sense" but I've since decided to revert them back to their original position, it was a dumb idea that just didn't need to be done. I am still going to need help with several of the King's if I am to restore their NES transformations but I'm going to press on until the things I need help with are the only things that need work. I'm going to try and start removing outdated things from the OP as I make these new showcase images. It's old news, but the OP had outdated sprites in it for so long. There's apparently even an unused pallet in the game for him but I haven't the slightest idea how to implement it.ĮDIT: While I'm here, I might as well share the nice new showcase for the King of Water Land. I do wish I could give "Bowser's Brother" his blue color pallet back without it effecting the real Bowser. I'm still going to keep a few of the subtly different enemy designs, especially if they did have any new art or variations of existing art made for Lost Levels, so be on the look out for that. Instead I've been playing through a version of SMB1 that uses the Lost Levels tiles. I should have re-created the entire image because I have since tweaked Mario's face in the far right pose because the lack of chin bothered me, but it is such a pain in the butt assembling these sprites just for a little screenshot.Īlso, I'm putting together a Lost Levels demo, but I really suck at Lost Levels, so testing has been a pain. ![]() Quote from: Noside on March 07, 2023, 07:36:52 PMExcuse my ignorance but, isn't the frog suit illustrations wrong placed? is the one on the left the original one?
